Changelog
Every meaningful change to Pilgrim, most recent first. We ship small and often.
Cross-document contradiction flags in synthesis view
When two sources make conflicting claims on the same query, Pilgrim now flags the contradiction inline rather than showing both passages neutrally. The flag appears as a small warning indicator next to the lower-confidence passage, with a side-by-side compare mode available on click.
PDF chapter-level indexing
Long PDFs now index at the chapter and section level instead of treating the whole document as a flat blob. Queries return results tagged with the section they came from, making it much easier to navigate to the original context without scrolling through 200 pages.
Draft canvas: inline citation insertion
You can now insert a citation from the synthesis panel directly into your draft with a single click. The citation lands as a footnote with a back-reference to the source and the exact passage. Previously this required manually copying text and creating the footnote, which broke the writing flow.
Source confidence score display
Synthesis results now show a lightweight confidence indicator for each source passage. The score reflects how closely the passage matches the query intent, not the source's general credibility. Helpful for filtering noise when a project has more than 15 sources.
Projects tab redesign and saved queries
The project sidebar has been rebuilt. Sources are now grouped by type (URL, PDF, notes) with counts. Queries you have run against a project are saved to a history panel and can be pinned for later reference. The old flat list is gone.
Fix: URL indexing failure on sites with aggressive CSP headers
Several news sites and academic portals that use strict Content-Security-Policy headers were silently failing to index. Affected sources showed as "Processing" without ever completing. This is fixed. Sources that were stuck in that state have been requeued automatically.
Export: structured reference list with source metadata
You can now export the full source list for a project as a structured reference sheet in plain text, Markdown, or BibTeX. Each entry includes the title, URL or filename, date retrieved, and the passages you have pinned from that source. Scholar plan feature.
Note blocks with inline source linking
Notes you write in the source panel can now link directly to a passage in that source. When you later query the project, these linked notes surface alongside the original passage they reference. Useful for annotation-heavy workflows where your own analysis matters as much as the raw source text.
Scholar plan launched
The Scholar plan is now available. It removes the project cap, adds export to BibTeX and Markdown, and enables collaboration sharing via view-only links. Monthly and annual billing available. The free plan continues to include full synthesis for up to 30 sources per project.
Fix: draft canvas losing unsaved state on page refresh
A session-persistence bug was causing draft text to be lost on page reload if the autosave had not yet triggered. Autosave now fires on every keystroke after a 2-second debounce, and a local backup is written simultaneously so browser crashes do not lose work. If you lost draft content before this fix, we are sorry.
Synthesis view: passage grouping by theme
For queries that return many passages, the synthesis view now groups them by inferred thematic cluster. Each cluster shows the shared idea and which sources contribute to it. Reduces the cognitive load of reading a long flat list of unrelated snippets, especially in projects with 10 or more sources.
