No. The free plan requires no payment information at all. You create an account with your email and start immediately. We only ask for a card when you choose to upgrade to Scholar or Team.

Yes. You can switch from monthly to annual at any time. When you switch to annual we prorate the remaining monthly period and apply the credit toward your annual subscription. Switching from annual back to monthly takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

If you downgrade from Scholar to Free, your projects remain intact. You will be asked to designate 3 as active; the rest go into read-only archive mode. You can always reactivate them by upgrading again. Nothing is deleted automatically.

We are working on a verified student and academic researcher discount. In the meantime, the free plan is genuinely usable for many research workflows. If you have a specific institutional need, contact us at [email protected] and we will see what we can do.

Scholar and Team plans support APA 7th edition, MLA 9th edition, Chicago 17th edition (notes and bibliography style), and raw BibTeX. We are adding Vancouver and IEEE in the next release.

Team plan billing is per seat. The account admin can add or remove seats at any time. Added seats are prorated to the current billing cycle. Removed seats take effect at the next renewal. The minimum is 2 seats.
